Motorisation

Why Motorisation?

Motorising your curtains or blinds represents a good long term investment with many practical advantages:

  • Control high or inaccessible windows easily.
  • The ability to control multiple blinds at the same time with a single remote, or control your blinds individually.
  • Motorisation represents a convenient way to operate blinds or curtains.
  • The ability to set timers to open and close your blinds.
  • By connecting a device called CONEXXON to wifi, blind and curtains can be controlled via an app. Your curtains and blinds can be controlled at any time through the app wherever you are in the world.

When considering motorisation for curtains or blinds, the most important aspect to consider is whether to opt for WIRED or WIRE FREE (Battery operated) motors. View the list of characteristics of the wired and wire-free motors.

  • Quick and easy installation.
  • No plug points or electrician needed.
  • No need to conceal any wires as motors are fitted within the tube of the blind.
  • Battery will need to be recharged once a year (on average).
  • Battery takes approximately 4 to 6 hours to recharge.

Wire free (Battery Operated) motorisation

  • No recharging of batteries is required.
  • Works better with larger blinds.
  • Less noisy quieter than battery operated motors.
  • Providing power supply to the motors can be costly.
  • Cables from the motor to the power supply will need to be concealed.
